Faith
Praise is the most natural outgrowth of the faithful Christian. We look at our lives, we see all the ways God has cared for us and led us as we have been faithful to him. And when we recognize his wonderful work in our lives, our lives will overflow with praise. Praising the Father not only brings joy to him, but it also refreshes the believer. Just as we enjoy hearing our name spoken by friends and family, God loves hearing his children calling his name. Just as we are pleased when friends affirm us, God joyfully accepts the praise and affirmation of his people.
Make praise a part of your day. You will be refreshed! Read Psalm 99:3 to see why God deserves our praise.

Word Study
Psalm 99:5 – worship, shachah (shah-chah)
The psalmist encourages us to “exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool.” When we worship God, we take our proper place in the divine order before him as King of the Universe. When we are in the presence of God, we can do nothing less that fall on our faces and worship him because he is God and is worthy to be praised. God created us to worship him, and it is in worshiping him that we find our full expression as human beings.
The word shachah means to “to bow,” “to stoop”; “to bow down before someone as an act of submission or reverence”; “to worship”; “to fall or bow down when paying homage to God.” The primary meaning is “to make oneself low.” In the present reference, shachah is used in contrast to exaltation.

Case Study
Competing for Life (Read Psalm 99:1-9)

Alex is a typical student. Each day he faces competition. In fact, to him, all of life seems like a competition.
His friends compete for the coolest clothes. Classmates compete for the highest grades. When Alex steps out onto the soccer field, he even has teammates who compete for starting positions.
There are few places he can go without feeling the pressure to compete.
Alex’s experience is not unique. Throughout our lives, we will find ourselves in competition. It begins in the playground, goes on through school, and continues though most careers. It becomes easy to judge people by their success. People who succeed are often held up as role models for the rest of the world to imitate.

Think About It
Although people are often considered great if they have success, the writer of Psalm 99 reminds us that only God is truly great. He is the only ruler of the world, and only he is perfect, fair, and strong. No person’s success can ever compare with God’s success. Compared to God, no person seems as impressive. Be sure to honor God with your abilities. How can you use the gifts he has given to you to praise him instead of focusing on competing with others?

Pray About It
God, it is tempting to use the abilities you have given me for my own honor. Remind me to praise you for the life you have given me.

Faithfulness

Few of us will ever wite a best-selling novel, become president of the country, or score a goal in the World Cup. Not many of us will record a Grammy award song, fly to the moon, star in a television series, or sink the winning out in the PGA finals. It is not that we are insignificant; it's just not likely that we'll pull off any of these great feats.

Do you ever wonder if you'll pull off something great with your life? Do you hope that in your later years you'll look back and see that you really did something significant? Good news... you can!

Think About It
We may not do any of the great things aove, but each of us can do something greater than these feats. Each of us can remain faithful to God. It may sound simple or unexciting, but consider the words of Jeremiah 29:11-14: "I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope. Then you eill call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will hear you. When you look for me, you will find me. When you wholeheartedly seek me, I will let you find me, declares the LORD."
God believes in you, is faithful to you and has great plans for you. What does he want in return? He wants you to seek him wholeheartedly and be faithful to him.
God has plans for you, and he wants to bring good to you. Accept his kind gifts and be faithful to him. It's what matters the most.

Pray About It
Lord, I want to live a life of significance. I know you believe in me and will be faithful at all times. I, too, want to be faithful. Give me the strength to live dedicated to faithfulness.

Happy New Year!

AND GOOD HEALTH TOO

Life is like having a cup of tea.
You sit by the side of the window, lift the cup and take a careless sip,Only to realize, somebody forgot to put the sugar. Too lazy to go for it you somehow struggle through the sugarless cup. Until you discover un-dissolved sugar crystal sitting at the bottom...
---That's Life---

"Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or
with your family [or with any other living beings anywhere else]. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."

My First Video Posting on YouTube...

This video was taken on 10 May 2006 with my 1.3 Megapixel O2 Mini's camera during one of the many driving trips.

Hmmm... Not as easy as I thought...

This whole month of December is dedicated to the Christmas Production for the Children Ministry in my church. This is also an outreach program. It is the first time we are invited to perform for the local community. I thank God for this great opportunity.

(Left) Discussing the script.... (Right) Preparing the backdrop

Serving God is just magnificent. You can be sure to expect His mighty hands to come and put all the nitty gritty things in perfect order, no matter how big or small. Simply amazing!
I do like to fill you in with the details but it will probably be too much. So, I'll put up photos.. A picture speaks a thousand words. Share this joy with me. God bless!
